My name is Joy Layton and I graduated from BYU’s prestigious accounting graduate program with my Masters in Accountancy with an emphasis in Taxation in 1999. I sat for and passed the CPA exam in November of that same year, and completed the requirements to earn my CPA (Certified Public Accountant) standing in Texas the following year. I began my career in January of 1999 at Ernst & Young LLP. While working there, I primarily served wealthy family groups requiring tax compliance for Partnerships, S Corporations, Trusts, and Individuals. I loved my clients and enjoyed my work, but in November of 2003 I said goodbye and started out on my own. Since then I have built a practice that includes small businesses and families in Texas, Nevada, Washington, Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut, California, Tennessee, and Utah.
